A Week’s Worth

September 13, 2010

At this point I am about 3 weeks backed up on my photos for 365 Project.  Almost exactly the amount of time since school began.  Go figure.  Anyway I will be adding the 3 weeks worth of photos in 1 week installments until I am caught up.

Three-fer Wednesday

August 19, 2010

It looks like I’ve done it again…let things get a few backed up.  But I have the feeling this could become my regulare MO, so let’s just get used to it, shall we?

Today was the kids’ first day back to school.  Bye bye summer vacation.  And the one on fruit salad is just becaue we love it and it looks so pretty.  I have lots of pictures of fruit salad.  And, of course, our little kitty-dog.

Two-fer Sunday

Here are a coule of shots from this weekend.  Yesterday was my sister’s annual (well it is now that we’ve done it two years in a row and plan to again next year) Hotdog Party.  As the name implies, it is a party where we grill and eat an assortment of hotdogs.  I brought dessert because I am a dessert kinda gal.

We went to the pool today.  Probably for the last time this summer.  The weather was beautiful and fun was had by all.

Making Up

August 13, 2010

Oh my, the last week of summer has been a doozy.  The kids and I have been so busy enjoying it that I have neglected my 365 project this week.  So here, to make up for it, are four in a row.  Click the following links to view photos of our last week of summer.

What a Good Boy

August 9, 2010

Our dog, Jim, isn’t exactly obedient.  Sweet, yes.  Cute, very.  Will do almost anything for a cookie, you betcha.  But obedient he is not.  So, since he does not like having his nails trimmed they grew to look like something from the Guiness Book of World Records.  And not in a good way.

He had to go to the vet for some shots so I thought they could give it a try with the nails.  I was certain they would come out of the room, all flustered and sweaty (like us after trying to trim ‘em), shaking their heads and scheduling a knock-out session just to get the things cut.  Well, I was wrong.  The vet (it just took the one person) administered his shots and trimmed all of his nails in just a few minutes flat.  And I only heard him bark once.

Jim has a definite swagger about him now.  And notice in the photo how he is looking at the vet…not me.

Our Hatchery

August 8, 2010

My Mom is always indulging the kids but, to this point, this has never included anything living.  Well, I take that back.  They have come home with things they’ve “found”:  a crawdad, bugs, frog, fish, tadpoles….But never before has she bought them a pet.  Until now.  Last month Grandma bought the kids a couple of very small, very innocent looking fish.  They do not require an aquarium, are super cheap to feed, and are very pretty little fish.  What the heck, right?

Of course, there is a catch.  The day after said fish came home the orange one, Peaches, had four tadpoles.  Yep, my Mom not only managed to buy a pregnant fish, but a couple of fish who are actually a “couple”.  Now, one month later, Peaches looks like she is ready to deliver again.  Looks like we have our own hatchery.  It is a learning experience…and maybe the kids will get something out of it too.

Swimming Lessons: Check

August 7, 2010

The kids finished their week of swimming lessons for the summer.  These lessons are no skip through the park.  They are intense and the kids work really hard.  But they learn a ton and feel very accomplished, so it’s worth it.  And they would totally agree…at the END of the week!

Contemplation

You know how boys and girls are totally different?  Neat, messy.  Particular, not so much.  Fancy, not so much.
